What can
insure that do for me?
If you have a reasonably
sized portfolio of rural business, we can assist you in three major areas:
Service, Products and Systems.
Service
We
understand that it is difficult to get city-based underwriters to take you
seriously when you are calling from country or regional areas. It can take ages
to get someone to return your call, give you a quote or provide a cover note or
Certificate of Currency.
We
specialise in servicing agents and brokers in the bush and are serious about
supporting you. We believe that we provide response times on each of these
things which are as good or better than you will find anywhere.

What if my clients have part of their business in the capital cities?
We are
happy to write incidental city business where we have a client’s country
business but we do not want to write unsupported city business.
Many
country clients for example have a unit in town or a holiday home out of their
area.

or brokers agreement with insure that?
We have
an agency application which we can send to you but in summary, we need to be
comfortable that:
|
●
You
and your staff have completed training on the General Insurance Industry Code
of Practice. |
|
●
You
have experience in selling the type of product, which we offer. |
|
●
You
are prepared to undertake training on our products. |

You

have invested a lot of time, effort and money in developing our systems and
products. |
|
●
To
maintain our service commitments, the optimum number of
intermediaries within our team to about 80. |
We
therefore would like to deal with intermediaries who can provide $20,000 or more
in premium per month.

email facilities plus a laser printer.
|

I am not very computer literate, what if I just fax the details to you in
the usual manner and you can do the quotes for me?
We have structured our business to empower our agents to be able to
produce the quotations and documentation within your own office. We cannot deal
with intermediaries in any other manner.
|

How competitive are your premiums?
We aim
to be competitive but we do not pretend to be the cheapest in the market. Our
products give very good coverage and we therefore do not compete with the no
frills products on price.
Our
agents are able to influence our pricing policy by delivering good loss ratios.
With
good loss ratios and our substantial portfolio of premium, we are in a good
position to keep price increases to a minimum.
It is
basically a win-win-win for the client, intermediary and underwriter.

Will you write stand alone liability or motor business?
No. We
are not a specialist motor or “hard to place facility”. We are happy to write
motor or liability as part of a client’s package policy but we will not write
them stand-alone.
|
| |
|
|
|
● |
Are there any classes of business that you won’t write?
We have
various types of risks which we treat either as a referral or where we will
decline to give a quote. These are spelled out in the underwriting package that
we provide.
We do
not, for instance, want to cover sport and recreation clubs or contract
harvesters.
We offer
a very good product for farms, small business and domestic insurance and these
are where we would like to concentrate.
